The Darkest Hour (A KGI Novel) - Maya Banks

FINALLY I found a good one. This is the kind of story I love, I was having no luck on bikers lately, so I thought I was due a break from them. So I've gone back to special ops men.

I fell in love with every man in the Kelly family, there all adorable and protective and have so much love for the rest of their family, they 100% loyal no question about it. There the kind of characters I want to read.

Seeing Ethan deal with the way he had handled his relationship before his wife 'died' was so sad, I was glad he got a second chance, he deserved it, the saying "you don't know what you have till it's gone" related so much to this poor man, and you just know he will do anything for Rachel now, he's learnt his lesson the hard way. Watching the 2 of them deal with some of the issues was emotional to say the least, but I was rooting for them from day 1.

Now Rachel, bless her, the lady has some crazy bad luck, I felt so bad for her so many times. ButI have to say I also wanted to shake the girl multiple times, she was trying to be so strong, but she had been through so much, I wanted her to lean on her family more than she was, but I understood how hard that is when you don't know who they are!

I cannot wait to read more of the hot hot hot Kelly boys, on to the next for me!

Chaos Abounds: Soldiers of Chaos MC book 1 - A.A. Askevold

Right, this was a bit all over the place, I read fantastic reviews on Goodreads about this book. I wasn't sure at first because of the love triangle thing, never quite sure how I feel about that. But I thought with all the good reviews I had to give it ago.

For so long reading this book I thought I had done it again, found another book I wasn't fussed about and might have to finish, (but I powered through!) I wasn't having any luck. I didn't like the Cole story from the start, he's a controlling bastard, we know nothing about him yet she's so hung up on him and always going back for more! When she has 2 men at home who she really loves, and who love her back and would move the Earth for her if it came to it! Yet she was choosing the one who controlled her crazy amounts. I get that she needed 'what he gave her' and all that jazz, she had a lot of guilt in her mind and was kind of loosing it, but the TNT have been friends since kids, and she didn't even give them a chance to help her, it pissed me off!

I wanted to see more TNT scenes, I ended up loving them three (I feel slight favouritism with Tex though I have to say, not sure why though!).

Towards the end I became hooked like everyone else in the reviews was, it just took me a while to get there and I did love it, and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
There is a slight cliffhanger but nothing you can't handle!

Enjoy this one, I would suggest stick with it if you unsure, personally got better for me (mainly if I just did my best to ignore Cole!)

Indulge: Red Rebels MC Book 1 - C.D. Breadner

MEH.

You can tell Gertie is struggling a bit with how her life has turned out pretty much from the start of the book, acting younger then she is, doing things she normally wouldn't and taking stuff she shouldn't! Naughty. Think she is having a slight early mid-life crisis.

Wasn't feeling much from Buck, couldn't completely work out what he was thinking. Just wasn't feeling him at all.

This novel does get a bit too much into the drug side of thing for my liking, I don't find the dealings of things like that interesting to read about. I would prefer to read more about the couple, they do seem to sometimes just have sex and there isn't much other time spent together. However I like that there is not too much regarding the inner working of the MC and concentrates more on the dramas of Gertie (whose name was hard to get used to when reading about hot sexy bikers) it makes it different to most MC books.

I have to admit I'm struggling more to connect with these characters than I usually do. Cant say why, the book is well written and is an interesting story, sometimes characters just aren't it for you.

I have had to stop reading this one for now I've had to stop this one, I'm not into it enough. I may return to it if I fancy it. Until then I want something a little more exciting that keeps me on the edge of the seat.

Diamond Girl - Andrea Smith

Howdy,

Right.

This was a weird one for me, my feelings were all over the place! One minute I felt I was getting into the story and the characters, I got what was going on, Samantha wanted a new identity for herself, her husband is a bastard and doing some very suspicious stuff (which in my opinion took far too long to come out what it was), and personally thought Samantha should have been a lot more suspicious with what was going on in the first place, and be a lot more angry.... I mean

Grow a backbone woman! Your husband has locked you out of all your banking accounts and taken away the computer and everything... I mean you don't find that a little strange?! Why put up with that... tell someone!

But then she found a man on the side, who at first seemed all hot and protective and and all round alpha male. This image didn't last too long for me, he was a bit of a dick, some of the texts he sent Sammie were just rude, he was such a controlling bastard of Sammie, she just went from one to another, and was happy about it, and thought it was cute!

Then it all flipped.. AGAIN, and all the secrets that Slate was keeping all came out again. I just still didn't get a lot of feeling between the two of them, I never felt the love, not in the sex scenes, or when they say I love you.

However I did actually like the story idea and plot... just think it could have been written a little better.

Beat (The Beat and Pulse 1) - Amity Cross

Howdy,

Don't think Amity Cross has ever let me down on a book before... and this one is no different.

This book is filled with strong, angry fighting men (and women - GO REN!)

I know fighting books are not everyone's cup of tea. I personally like them, mainly because years ago I had a MMA fighter boyfriend so I've witnessed a bit of the scene, I can kind of relate, the difference between the guys in the books and my ex .... the book boys actually win there fights!

So back to the book:

HOT HOT HOLY HOTNESS

Ren is one strong lady, I love her, she deals with her dad and she is so strong after he abandoned her at 5 and she then finds out he had a whole other family all along, yet she doesn't quite snap! (she is pretty angry understandably, but she deals well) much better than I would!

Ash is a complete hotty, slightly controlling and protective, but thats not always a bad thing... until he takes it too far... queue a bit of a cliffhanger there! They both love each other.. a lot, you can tell! But is that enough? or has their anger become too much and ruined them?

Cannot wait to find out in the next one!!

HURRY UP

HIYA

Howdy readers,

This blog is for all you fellow romance book worms out there, I recently travelled America and Canada and totally fell in love with the massive book shops! They do not build them like that in England!

After always being a complete hopeless romantic I proceeded to work my way through the romance section of these stores.

I especially became slightly addicted to a bad boy biker or the brave ex op's novels. I was a sucker for these 'Knight in shining armour' types.

So here we are, I thought I should share some of these books and what I thought and also who my favourite book boyfriends were.

I would love to get some reviews on what your favourite romance books and series are!
So get sharing!

Now I'm going to get on with my reading and I shall catch up with you lovelies soon with my first review!

Laters,

Charlie
